This documentary is based on “The I.W.W. and the Black Worker,” by Philip S. Foner. This article, written in 1970, details the remarkable success which the Industrial Workers of the World were able to unite black and white workers to form "one big union" from the shipyards of Philadelphia to the sawmills of the deep South.
