In this session, Ankita Shanker addresses what it will take for us to live in a world without subjugation – one in which there is, at minimum, formal recognition of and respect for the fundamental rights of all rights-bearers. She will discuss why such a world is needed, and how we can achieve it through policy (by making strategic, concerted efforts to end exploitation), law (by expanding legal protection of fundamental rights), and activism (by using rationality and logic to promote respect for fundamental rights). She shares her personal strategy in these regards, identifying some pressing problems and highlighting pragmatic approaches we can adopt to facilitate a decent future for all.
