Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia, I have for a long time studied the visual work of the mentally ill. I heard that the painter Picasso did this and used some of the imagery in his own work. Their is a distinct similarity in the art work of people who are mentally ill. Ordinary people can also experience the same imagery when the are waking up but are still half asleep,in a dream world. Images seem to be in the process morphing into something else. and the world seems to be somewhat surrealistic.I have found out that this is almost the same thing as the allusions of people who have Schizophrenia. I have used these visual illusions on occasion in my own work most all of my life. Many of the work's that I have done in years past are in this film, like paintings that I made in the 1960s that I called portraits of friends. Which was a cubist like collection of split apart faces. This in not a documentary about mental illness but an observation of imagery that is slightly removed from reality. Hopefully it will promote taught, and entertain the viewer.
