Living With Disabilities Under The Conservatives Cuts

This is the story of people living and working with disabilities in modern Britain whose lives have been drastically affected by a series of Tory cuts, reforms and changes to disability benefits and a growing crisis in social care and housing.

Part 1 - Alex has complex physical and mental health needs, and cannot walk unaided. But due to a severe lack of accessible housing in the area, Alex has to live in a first-floor flat.

Part 2 - Stephen and Elaine are disabled and rely solely on Stephen’s income. But with the impending removal of his subsidised Motability car, he will have no way of getting to work.

Part 3 - Elli has hypermobility Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Her care has been halved from 44 hours to 22, and a grant to help her work cut completely. She’s fighting for more support, but it’s hard work.
