France Protests Are a Western Spring. America Is Next

Your government used to own things on your behalf. Land. Housing. Utilities. Rail. Water. Energy. Then since the 1980s, they sold nearly all of it while cutting taxes on the buyers. They call this privatization.

In this 8-minute breakdown, we connect the dots. Britain nationalized coal, steel, rail, gas, electricity, water, telecoms — then sold it all off between 1979-1996.

America just gave it away. Land. Minerals. Oil. Spectrum. Public housing. Result: In the 1970s, net public wealth was 40% to 100% of national income. Today in the US and UK, it's minus 30%. You own less than you owe. National wealth is now entirely private.

Broke governments now borrow to survive.

From who? The same oligarchy. That loan is a bond.

The US now owes $40 trillion in bonds. Interest alone just passed $1 trillion a year — paid by you to bondholders.

Top 10% hold nearly 70% of all US wealth. Bottom half hold 2.5%.

Cuts won't fix it. Growth can't fix it. Three options left: tax working people harder, keep dismantling services, or tax wealth-hoarding and return essential infrastructure to the people.
