Gaza Before the Genocide

I took these clips in 2021 and I am so grateful that I did. Gaza has always been a city of great joy mixed in with pain due to the blockade and countless israeli bombardment campaigns. We are used to building and rebuilding our small city after every aggression, but this time, our pain and fear is immeasurable and is unlike anything we have ever experienced before. Internal displacement, senseless bombardments, starvation, and water contamination just to name a few of the atrocities happening to the 2.3 million Palestinians living in Gaza right now. I hope this short video gives you a glimpse into our life before the genocide.

This is just one story of one family. Do you see the devastating impact of the genocide once you multiply that by 2.3 million? This is why we say we are not just numbers. We have entire lives that we built in Gaza, all of which have shattered in a blink of an eye. - Salma Shawa
