Holy Wars (2010)

Directed by Stephen Marshall

Shot over a four year period in America, Britain, Lebanon, and Pakistan, Holy Wars follows a danger-seeking Christian missionary and a radical Muslim Irish convert, both of whom believe in an apocalyptic battle, after which their religion will ultimately rule the world. Tracking their lives from the onset of the "War on Terror" through the elections of Barack Obama, Holy Wars shows that even the most radical of believers can be transformed by our changing world.

Selected as Moviefone's "Top 10 Documentaries to Watch For," Variety's Justin Chang wrote that director Stephen Marshall's "cool, agnostic approach effectively modulates the intense battle of wills that develops between the uniquely compelling subjects." Despite being one of the top 3 finalists in the prestigious IDFA, Holy Wars  was considered too contentious for distribution.
