Hoosiers, Don't Let Monopoly Utilities Kill Your Right to Choose Solar!

Hoosiers, Don’t Let Monopoly Utilities Kill Your Right to Choose Solar!

Monopolist utilities like Duke Energy, American Electric Power (AEP) and Vectren are supporting new legislation that will kill your right to energy choice and free market competition.

Send a message to your legislators urging them to protect net metering!

  • New legislation HB1320 seeks to undo net metering, a critical policy that gives Indiana solar customers full retail credit for the excess energy they put back on the grid.
  • It would also give utilities a green light to impose taxes on solar customers.

Net metering does not expose customers to any additional fees or taxes and allows customers who generate their own power to use that electricity in their homes.

To make matters worse, this legislation to kill net metering comes immediately after a recent Duke request to increase fixed charges on ALL customers. Duke Energy has even agreed to full retail net metering for customers elsewhere, but still refuses to give Hoosiers the same deal.

Urge your representatives not to be duped by monopolies putting greed above consumer choice, industry job growth, and fair competition. Send a letter now!
