Conflicts of Interest in News Reporting

Here's an interview on CNN with Normon Solomon, the Executive Director of the Institute of Public Accuracy. He brings up some excellent examples of how the corporate news departments often face many conflicting interests, because of their parent-company's other financial investments - such as oil, defense contracting, the internet, and many others.
