The Reality of #Bernieorbust

The Reality of #Bernieorbust

There are two ways to look at an election in America, particularly during the primary season.

One is the idea that choosing a candidate is about preference. It's about who you can identify with, who seems to have the "best chance of winning" (according to the punditry and media), and who your Party endorses (officially or not). It's just a matter of Political Realism- not getting hung up focusing on historical imperfections or strength of their policies, but marching in line to the drum others of your Color already seem to hear beating. It is about soundbytes, how often they get mentioned favorably on the talk shows and news, and who seems to have the financial and upper class connections for Power.

While often defended as "maturity," this point of view- with respect to the insulated and indoctrinated carrying its water even now, perhaps reading along- is a completely full-of-shit corporate-powered for-profit religion for American lemmings.

The second perspective is from a wider vantage point, that recognizes a biased media and our two warmongering, billionaire serving private parties cannot and will never reflect the best interests of the poor majority. It doesn't see the politics of Team Colors as serving any purpose among the masses except as purposefully sponsored distraction and division. Those in this group are done enabling and serving a system that doesn't offer meaningful representation, thus only get involved and battle the well-financed mud-slinging first group of cult followers when there's a real chance to alter the power dynamic.

Which brings us to this moment in time, this primary- which will define and decide the course forward for every one of us.

To understand the #BernieOrBust movement, it requires deeper insight than frankly Nazi-Germany sounding "Party Loyalty" or superficial television research. It means taking a hard look at the controlling minority funding both factions of a modern Royalty Class partisan duopoly, and rejecting that their trillion-dollar industry is in any way a real Democracy. It means understanding real policy ramifications on the day-to-day struggles of average citizens, and seeing the world through eyes of the many who no longer have the privilege of staying out-of-touch from the results of our money-orchestrated elections.

When a candidate with a lifetime of proven integrity, who refuses to join either party nor play their money games, gives a third option that unites all of us under a slew of actually representative policies- no, settling for some newcomer who is willing to imitate him for quick popularity doesn't interest us. It's not about us being Bros, or Russian, or any of their other go-to empty slurs; it's about making this election actually mean something. It's about taking responsibility for our kids, our planet, and our country- that today's two-headed wealthy ruling class has demonstrably and repeatedly failed at.

Bernie has the largest pool of loyal working-class donors for this reason. Other candidates seek an identity politic niche to appeal to, or gain approval from entitled professional class folks who are still able to choose a candidate like an ice cream flavor- for superficial reasons, even if they mean well. He is the only candidate willing to directly call out a bad faith oligarchic system of normalized corruption and offer policies to directly address it. Even his best imitators cannot copy that line in the sand. In a sea of ego and rhetoric, one candidate insists on a cabinet that represents the majority.

#BernieOrBust is a peaceful, grass-roots political revolution against modern taxation without representation. I'd argue it is more responsible and less divisive than either party's pre-ordained offerings, and is the saner, healthier and globally more respectable choice. I ask that everyone do some real research, not just absorb or reflect the opinions pushed through paid passive channels. I would ask everyone consider whether massive debt, political figures powered a military industrial complex's weapon sales, and the wage-slave "gig economy" fueling perpetual wars is what our nation should really be about.

Settling for "better than the other one" decade after decade got the majority of us to where we are; hopeless, uninvolved, and non-represented. Taking a stand against it is the most realistic thing we can do, and reflects the higher aspects of a checkered past we as a nation can either hide from or rise above. Similar confrontations are going on worldwide, though an unfortunate number of them have turned violent; in a twist of irony, we have the chance to lead by superior example. There is enough democracy left here that if we all stand together, the tide will turn on corruption- without a shot being fired.

This is the true noble reality of #BernieOrBust: it's not about a candidate, but a figurehead for a long overdue movement.
