Election Day 411: a Fireside Chat

The decision is yours today; would you like all the facts first?

Election Day 411: a Fireside Chat
Fellow citizens of this once admirable country, I am not your president. But if you feel as I do, that those titles of power no longer reflect representation, then I ask you to lend me three minutes for an old-school Fireside Chat. Today is election day, and the media hasn't been covering everything Americans need to know before stepping into the voting booth. What can it hurt to read before dismissing me?

With all due respect, Trump is playing off irresponsible childishness and glorified ego over ethical responsibility. He legitimizes the most base, destructive, self-serving part of our society- the one that's eating itself to death through runaway capitalism. He's the ultimate con artist, the great deal-maker, the sad little king on his sad little hill playing tin god to a mix of the ignorant and hateful destructivists.

The level of Hillary's corruption can be measured in the fact that Podesta's own emails have proven she was having the media prop him up. He was supposed to make her look good. But when he got up on stage, did he act any different than he usually did? No. He was still the same bigoted, insensitive asshole he always was. And with respect, Bernie Sanders solidly kicked his ass in every single national poll by double digits.

Podesta's emails also proved Hillary sabotaged Bernie, and the DNC never remotely kept their duty of an even playing field. The American people were played, badly, at their awful expense. Now both candidates pretend to be Bernie incarnate while national polls say the majority of America doesn't just not trust them, but *hates* them. We're playing a broken, rigged game. No, that's not a Trump term. Bernie fans earned it first.

You can't hijack the Berners for scapegoating nor buying imitations. Do we all have the memories of goldfish and the gullibility of infants? There is nothing about any of this that is representative, nor a democracy. Pretending that this system worked for sake of blind hope, the only rational vote would be for Jill Stein. Her agenda isn't just pretty similar to Bernie's, it even takes it several steps further. Like, *peace*.

A Peace Offensive, for God's sake. Stop the wars, stop the killings. 'Nobel Peace Prize Obama' has doubled down on the drone war game. Who is the real terrorist when poor innocent foreigners are terrified of American attacks on their villages? In what possible, defensible way does this come up on the balance sheet as saving more lives than taking? At what point does humanity override capitalist priorities?

I don't know where we'll go from here, but the answer has got to be Enough is Enough. We The People know to much, and those in power have too much to answer for. Nobody has to live under complete lack of representation; our own laws written by our founding fathers says so very clearly. I would gratefully accept a Jill Stein win as welcome change to this duopoly of unsustainable, for-profit terrorist wars.

If that doesn't happen, then we as a people must decide the next course of action. Standing Rock exemplifies everything coming to a visual head: increasingly defenseless, abused people taking lower priority than Big Oil. Than profit. At the expense of the proud native nation we've nearly eradicated getting to this point. My fellow humans, what are we *fucking* doing? How in the hell is this a good example to the world?

Our planet is baking. And shaking. We're ignoring science, turning dangerous realities into political arguments, and destroying ourselves in new ways everyday as long as the big checks keep rolling. You know what the entire issue is over in the middle east? Oil. Also being dumped into rivers, the oceans, burning and filling our air- why? Because it's an industry, thriving under this capitalism without conscience.

The military industrial complex is the same way. Podesta's emails also touched on arms dealings. No, we're not told the truth. You would think that would be pretty much the first credential for a "representative" (heck, even for a minimum wage cashier) but if Hillary's constant doubletalk throughout this election hasn't got your attention, her leaked speeches state clearly that she proudly has a "public and private" face.

When confronted with this evidence, suddenly everything is a Russian conspiracy. WikiLeaks, a former ally when helpful, now becomes a supposed Agent of Putin. Trump is obviously in on it, because obviously everything threatening to Her and beneficial to someone else is a cause for Cold War II conspiracies... right? Because the issue couldn't ever possibly be about the message, only about the messenger?

I will say this as clearly as I can. We. Need. To. Trust. Our. Representation. In. Government. You got that? Surely you must admit it's the lowest bar for hiring anyone, and since they are on the taxpayer's dime, using taxpayer's funds to make decisions and laws over the taxpayers... the ability to trust those guys might be a little essential to our own lives, don't you think? How's it been going without proven trust?

I don't know where we're going after today. But this is the 8th. This is election day. And I just had to try and let you all know one last time what is really at stake here, what's really going on underneath all the superficial tabloid "reporting" on the TV. You can fact-check everything I've said. WikiLeaks is unaffiliated with any country, an independent investigative journalist with ten solid years of no retractions or ethical errors.

My vote went to Jill. This Saturday, I'm headed to Standing Rock. I can't tell you what to do, but I will do my civic duty as an American citizen and defender of my planet and people. I wish us all peace and comfort soon from our forced conflict for self-preservation.
