It’s Not Enough To Be Anti-Racist, We Also Need To Be Pro Human | Daryl Davis

How do we solve a problem like racism? Can simply being against racism bring about its destruction? No. To end hatred, we must know what we want to put in its place. In 1990 I met Roger Kelly, a leader in the Ku Klux Klan. Since I was a child I had a question: “how can someone hate me when they didn't even know me?” I didn’t set out to convert anyone, I simply
sought to find an answer to my question; so we started talking, and somehow, we kept on talking.

While trying to find the answer, something changed. As I got to know this white supremacist, he got to know me. We became friends! Years later Kelly decided, his entire belief system was wrong. Formerly one of the most racist men in all of America, Kelly left the Klan. With him, his whole chapter of the KKK crumbled. How did that happen? - Daryl Davis
