From Abandoned Farm To Permaculture Laboratory

On the grounds of the permaculture laboratory Peintnerhof in the middle of Carinthia (Austria), pigs dig through the earth and prepare the formerly compacted soil piece by piece for a new, more diverse planting. For example, classic fruit trees are allowed to flourish next to old fruit varieties and wild fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers next to various types of hemp.

The protagonist of the film, Alexandra Margarita Sacher Santana, understands permaculture not only as an agricultural concept, but also includes all aspects of life and living together, and passes this on in the form of permaculture design courses. Various cooperations enrich farm life, and the construction of a house according to the Earthship concept of the American architect Michael Reynolds is in the planning stage.
