This documentary film is normally experienced as a part of a larger multi-hour participatory group experience. It is being made available online so that people not near an area where a symposium is being organized to draw from the wealth of wisdom and inspiration found in the film.

Testimonials

"I can't tell you how empowering the symposium was for me... The Symposium did exactly what it aims to do: it woke me up! The realization (and reality) that I can still make a valuable contribution have birthed incredible vitality in many dimension of my being, not the least of which is HOPE. It is hope as a dimension of soul; hope committed to actions." - Bianca Powell, Ashland Oregon

"The most amazing thing about the symposium was not the information I gathered about where we are as a society in the world, it was how it all made me feel. Fear, panic, guilt, desperation, helplessness, anger, passion, and love - all these in the space of only a few hours and all felt about the same thing- humanity. Overwhelming. But what was I left with? The understanding that we are, every one of us, connected to each other." - Tara lisa Persaud, Barabados

Inspired Beginnings in the Amazon

To truly ensure that they retain their rightful custodianship of their rainforest lands, our founding indigenous partners, the Achuar, requested that we work to shift the so-called "modern" worldview that places short-term economic gain over the long-term interests of people and planet.

The Awakening the Dreamer Symposium became the first of our transformative learning workshops designed to answer that request.

A Global Community Taking a Stand Together

Each of us wants to live a fulfilling life and to have a positive impact on our families and communities. Since 2005, the Awakening the Dreamer Symposium has helped tens of thousands of people do just that.

Today, more than 3,500 volunteers have delivered the Symposium in over 70 countries and in at least 13 languages. They are a passionate and growing community of people taking a stand for a just, thriving and sustainable world now.
