What have governments done? Lots of good things right?! Well...
I think the biggest counter-response to this video
would be: well without governments we wouldn't have X, Y and Z! The major breakthrough comes I think when we realize that human societies have the potential to organize themselves and make large group decisions without the hierarchical, pseudo-not-actually representative form of government that is almost uniform across the world.
We certainly need a way for society to make large and small decisions together, but a horizontal power structure would be so fundamentally different from the pyramid power structure of today's government, one wonders if we should really still call it that.
Is it possible to have a government that governs with, rather than governs over its usually disempowered masses? This is the question we have yet to find out.
