Crisis

How much can we ever really rely on the media’s depiction of events?

After witnessing from afar the “refugee crisis” unfolding in his homeland, a German expat returns to his hometown to discover the reality for himself. Crisis is a snap-shot analysis of the current migrant situation in southern Germany, as told by local residents and asylum seekers themselves.

This short documentary gives a voice to those who fled their homes, combating right wing populism by highlighting positive examples of integration. In addition, the film honours the ongoing voluntary efforts undertaken by the citizens to help migrants feel at home.
