Squatted social centers are proliferating all across Europe. Ordinary people are occupying empty buildings in urban areas, turning them into free, open and public space. Alongside music and art collectives, concerts, food co-operatives and community gardens one also finds construction workshops, child care, language classes, political talks and even legal advice on social and economic rights.

It is a urban movement with a long tradition, and in the context of the recent and sever economic and political crisis, has served to connect various different social struggles from demands for a right for housing, to opposition and outright rejection of Neo-liberal policies and politics.

This documentary gives an insight into various Squatted and self-managed social centers in Madrid in the year 2009/10.
