মায়া / Maya: A Story Of Azadi

In the midst of an all-out revolution, Maya, a middle-class womyn, questions and confronts her partner, Wasim, as to why he should be the one to go join the revolutionary struggle and why she should take care of their child, Kabir.

This is my first attempt at directing a short film. Although this was primarily produced by Eye Art Collective, everyone from the cast and crew pitched in a hefty amount as well. We finished it in exactly three days!

Feel free to share and download, and also feel free to add constructive feedback so that we can make it better!  Adapted (and subverted) from a short (and patriarchal) play from the then USSR. Original play was written by Leonid Andreyev.

Enjoy, and leave any questions and/or feedback in the comments!

PS: The film is in Bengali, but there''s no option to choose that language. :(  On the bright side, there are English subtitles!
