The Trump administration's illegal economic sanctions against Iran makes it impossible to import essential medicines, says CEPR's Mark Weisbrot.
"For 2019, the IMF has lowered their projection for economic growth for Iran from negative 3 to negative 6 percent as a result of the sanctions and can get a lot worse. People are punished by this. This is an attack on the civilian population." - Mark Weisbrot
Mark Weisbrot is Co-Director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research in Washington, D.C., and the president of Just Foreign Policy. He is also the author of “Failed: What the ‘Experts’ Got Wrong About the Global Economy” (2015, Oxford University Press).
