Films For Action: We Share Breaking Knowledge

By Films For Action / filmsforaction.org

A lot of media organizations focus on breaking news. We're focused on breaking knowledge.

What is breaking knowledge you ask? It may be cutting edge or it may be ancient. It may be a video or article published yesterday or something from 20 years ago. Either way, it's knowledge that everyone needs to know. It's those essential perspectives that could create a massive sea change in our cultural awareness, and inspire the more beautiful world that our hearts know is possible. Most of all - breaking knowledge is the idea whose time has come.

The media has an incredible power to convey breaking news stories to millions of people when it's important enough. We want to use this power of the media to awaken millions to the potential of powerful ideas.

As an example of the kind of breaking knowledge we're talking about, below are 10 of our all-time favorite documentaries. These films are bursting with the big meta-memes of our time - the kind of information and perspective that could truly transform the world if it was to become common knowledge.

When you don't have time to watch a full documentary, we've also cataloged thousands of shorter films and videos to absorb a little knowledge in those smaller spaces throughout the day.

And despite our overall focus on films, we also republish quite a lot of articles. Because sometimes nothing beats some good old-fashioned words on a screen.
