Super Amigos (2007)

Superheroes do exist and they are fighting injustices on the streets of Mexico City.

Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, is one of the most populated cities in the world. To many, it is considered to be a concrete jungle where only the strong survive. Many societal problems plague the city including poverty, crime, and corruption. These issues have spiraled out of control and it seems like the city is broken beyond repair.

When politicians and police fail to protect a city, who can the people turn to? In this case, five masked Lucha Libre activists take a stand to fight against corruption, homophobia, animal rights, pollution, and poverty in Mexico City. It isn’t a joke. These five men, wearing masks, costumes, and capes, aren’t fighting for trophies but rather are fighting for justice.

This film will hopefully inspire others to realize that with a little imagination, a good heart, and right mask, we can all triumph over evil.
