Sexual Harassment in Egypt (2013)

Awel El-Khayt takes a closer look at the causes and consequences of sexual harassment and try and understand the mindset of the harasser and what motivates them. Men often find it difficult to understand how the fear of sexual harassment impacts the daily lives of Egyptian women and so we undertake an exercise in empathy by sending a young man onto the street dressed as a woman. His brief glimpse of Cairo's streets from a woman's perspective is revealing of the constant state of siege that millions of women experience every day.
