Rize.

At around age five and six, Mariama was sexually abused by a neighbour. In her adult life the memories from this period have come back into full clarity. She has suffered from depressions and panic attacks periodically throughout her life, and now has a better understanding of the reason for this. Through therapy, and art and dance, she begins to reclaim the energy and power that was taken from her in her childhood. An important part of her recovery process is to make these memories public, and thereby reassigning the guilt and shame for what happened onto the perpetrator. My name is Mattias Olsson, and Mariama is my life partner. We have created this film together.
