A Syrian filmmaker conveys the lived experience of the Israeli government’s occupation of the Golan Heights.
Syrian filmmaker Rami Farah’s short documentary Silence tells the story of the Israeli occupation of Golan Heights. Rather than focusing on abstract political debates, Farah seeks to recount the Six-Day War between Syria and Israel and the ensuing occupation using the perspective of someone who lived through it. In this short film, Cultures of Resistance interviews the documentarian, who talks about his role as an artist and his views about the intersection of feelings and emotions with politics.
