In the aftermath of Harris’s electoral defeat, Bernie Sanders attributed it to the Democratic Party’s abandonment of the working class, arguing it’s no surprise “a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them.”
DNC Chair Jaime Harrison clapped back, arguing that Biden has embraced more worker-friendly policies as President. The problem, however, with Harrison’s assessment is that the Party’s incrementalist approach hasn’t been enough to address Americans’ economic anxiety and genuine frustration with the system.
