An Earthship-type home in Chertsey, Quebec

Hélène Dubé shows us around the house she built with her partner Alain Neveu near Chertsey, in Quebec's Lanaudière region. The walls of this Earthship-inspired home are built with tires filled with earth, and its main source of heating is the sun which comes through large south-facing windows. Hélène also tells us about the rocket mass heater they use as auxiliary heating and harvests the last fig of the season, in the middle of February!
