"The Worst Flood in Living Memory" - Yangshuo, China | June 2020

In June 2020, Yangshuo experienced its worst natural climate change disaster to date. Water poured into this beautiful tourist town from two nearby rivers, with shocking consequences. The area received the highest amount of rainfall recorded in 200 years.

The "worst flood in living memory" devastated bridges and some unfortunate houses, as the rampaging water turned streets to rivers and left many stranded on higher ground. This flood is part of an annual increase in extreme temperatures and water levels that the town of Yangshuo has been experiencing for the last 20 years. Locals worry what the future could hold.
