The Trees of Europe's Last Large Wilderness Ends as Cheap Fire Wood

Retezat mountains shelters Europe's last Intact Forest Landscape of the temperate climate.

It is a key habitat for largest healthy population of brown bears, grey wolves and lynnx.

The Austrian wood company Holzindustrie Schweighofer is the leading forest eater in Romania where Retezat is sheltered.

They have been caught breaking their promise not to source trees from national parks.

Calling 112 Emergency call in Romania may confirm wether a truck loaded with wood is legal or illegal just by giving the vehicle's license plate.

In this movie AGENT GREEN has chosen one of the 500 trucks leaving the RAU-SES area of Retezat park in 2014.

The 112 confirmed several times that the truck is illegal. Though it entered the gates of the Schweighofer largest sawmill located in Sebes (Transislvania) where 1,45 million cubic meter of trees are processed yearly.

The most precious trees of Retezat becomes in this sawmill nothing but the cheapes wood products for fire places of viennesse people and other European settlements. These products can be found in supermarkets such as SPAR, gas stations such as SHELL or DYI-stores such as OBI or HORNBACH.
