Millions March NYC / Black Lives Matter

On November 24th 2014, Ferguson grand jury decided not to indict police officer in the shooting death of an unarmed black teenager, 18 year old Michael Brown.

On December 3rd 2014, Staten Island grand jury decided not to indict police officer in the chokehold death of an unarmed black man, 43 year old Eric Garner.

On December 13th 2014 after weeks of non stop protests in the city, more than 30,000 New Yorkers gathered in Washington Square Park for 'Millions March NYC' and marched through Manhattan for more than 4 hours demanding justice, chanting 'Black Lives Matter'. 

Contrary to mainstream news' attention focusing on disturbances after the march, the march itself was peaceful and dynamic, attended by a diverse crowd of New Yorkers from all ages, races, and socio-economic backgrounds.
