Films For Action: an Important Message to All Our Supporters

Hey everyone! We're excited to announce that Films For Action has launched a Patreon crowdfunding campaign!

For those that are new to Patreon, Patreon is a membership platform that makes it easy to help creators earn a sustainable income. Patrons make a small monthly donation, as little as a $1 per month, and creators are able to do what they love without needing to rely on advertising to get by.

For the last 5 years, advertising on our website has been the primary way Films For Action has been able to grow and sustain itself. But with ever-changing Facebook algorithms, declining organic reach and the trend towards native Facebook video, it's become increasingly difficult to drive traffic to the site and hence, earn money from ads.

We're still reaching millions of people every week on Facebook and our base of supporters is larger than ever - we recently passed 900,000 fans on Facebook - but the revenue model that we used to rely on is essentially gone.

This could be a blessing in disguise, however. If it becomes possible, we would love to remove ads on the site entirely and rely on our supporters to keep our site growing and healthy. We would also love to hire additional staff and rehire our editor from the UK, who worked with us for 3 years up until last summer, when we had gone about 6 months past the point that funds were no longer able to support a 2nd fulltime staff member. Andrew Butler was such an incredible work partner and asset to the project, we would love to bring him back.

This is where you come in.

If you believe in Films For Action and why our site exists, we hope you'll be among the first to become a Films For Action patron.  As a way of saying thanks, with a $1 pledge, we'll remove ads on the site for you and for your friends with every dollar more.

Whether you decide to pitch in $1, 2, 3 or more dollars per month, this regular income will ensure Films For Action will be able to continue growing our impact across the world, reaching millions of people every week and inspiring the shift to the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.

With your help and the help of a few thousand awesome people like you, we can continue stronger than ever. Our goal is to go 100% ad-free for everyone by next year and become 100% member supported!

We can't wait!

As a community-powered learning library (we have over 35,000 site members who have contributed over 3,000 highly rated videos and articles to the site), we think this is how it was always meant to be.

100% funded by the people, for the people, and all living beings.

For all your support, thank you!
