The Source of All That Is Wrong With Our System Is a Low Self-Esteem

The Source of All That Is Wrong With Our System Is a Low Self-Esteem

This world is broken in extremism. The power spotlight is getting tighter and the population bigger. This pressure makes the balance now 1% equivalent to 99% of the other side of human wealth. This is not a problem, this is the result of 9 people in a bed for 15 been pushed to the edge by the one that is closest to the door. Competition and bad prioritizing is making the world's resources stretch like an elastic band in every sector: social, environmental and political.

This planet has now also reached the extreme of reasoning. Trump leaving the Paris Agreement was not a surprise (since he promised he would in his campaign) but a statement, humanity is not ready to face redemption to what we have done as species. It is a loop of development and yet, blunt resistance to mind evolution. Meaning, a lot of stuff happens. Things get build, treaties made and broken, war threats even, but at the same time, nothing really is happening. Extreme poverty is only growing, massive waste is no different and refugees are growly lacking support (both political and social).

Many philosophers over the course of history have questioned, researched and come up with ideas of the nature of our existence to explain why do we live and reproduce in such an ineffective system. A system led by confusion, anxiety and self destruction. Some argue we are a parasite, and our nature like any other virus is to consume the protein which we are attached to and reproduce as much as possible until consuming all we can. Others said the human is born good and influenced to bad. Others that we are born neutral and absorb whatever surrounds us. Another that we are week and need excuses to fill the emptiness and loneliness, but I have another theory.

I know why people is afraid, anxious, nervous, in this system while reaching the peak of liberty/abuse of privacy/interconnection. TV shows, songs, movies they all feel like pieces from the same puzzle of bullshit (hence the immature, incompetent pointer leaders at the moment). Because they are, and we are not raise to understand it. We are raised to be entertained by it. Tempted, admire it and eventually, be dragged to keep reproducing it. We all know something is wrong with the way this world functions, all generations have always smelled it. We millennials don't have it right either, our generation just became more impatient and so we switched to 4G. Change has come quickly, so it leaves at the same pace. But the source of our unhappiness, of this unjust extremist world, the feeder of the so long hated system since agriculture began is: insecurity. We have always adored and fantasized the leaders that got it all together. Jesus, Buddha, Gandhi, Madre Teresa. But truth is, they were only mortals who stood up for what they believed and that was it. We have never in any culture or religion, grown up to know yourself, to understand yourself, to love yourself so you can respect yourself. The rules said: be virgin until marriage, not to respect and take care of your own body all your life so you can get healthy to marriage. We were told to say yes to authority, not to respect the elderly and make an effort to understand their advice. We were told to chose a profession when 18, not to begin our search for a fulfilling life of purpose. We were told to trust institutions with our questions and corporations with our growth. We were told to fit in not to find our identity. We are told to share the story of the transsexual Kardashian, but to avoid Aleppo. Our sense of priorities is a clear example of our sublimity to pressured information, not connective action. The global society of today, yesterday, and probably tomorrow is hunted by the same error. Nobody knows what they want, because nobody really comprehends itself. Social network has done nothing but increased the comparison, the pressure and the impotency. There is no school to understanding yourself, and aside from all the control conspiracies the reality is that, this is a problem that started so long ago that trying to change things now means defying years and years of tradition, culture, history and religion. It means to educate people to value themselves enough to stand for whatever they believe. To find what they believe in, and to respect what others believe because you do not feel threaten by others beliefs. It means to be content with who you are, because you like yourself. It is not some voodoo-hippy-yoga-shit, it is a basic principle of surviving that allows you to comprehend your problems with a self esteem.  To build a resistance to all superficial ideas. To realize that it is only you who holds the meaning of your existence. It means been content with who you are, and that takes courage. It means pointing at yourself for the world's problems. Pointing at yourself for the world's solutions. It means tolerance, respect and honesty. It means growing up.

Truth is, in the world we live in, trying to understand the system can make you crazy, but trying to understand yourself is the only key to sanity.
