Thanks to the work of charity 'Education for All Morocco' (EFA) over the last 13 years scores of girls, who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to continue their studies beyond the most basic of primary schooling, have been able to access a secondary education due to the provision of the EFA boarding houses.
Typically, girls who stay in the remote rural villages of the Atlas Mountains are obliged to marry as early as at the age of 13. By giving girls and young women this support it makes a dramatic difference to the wellbeing of our world — for all of us.
When women are educated:

The cycle of poverty is broken and illiteracy isn't passed on

Marriage comes later and fewer, healthier children are born

Women live longer and contribute more to their society and economy

Equality in society improves as does the economy and development

Women have the understanding and skills to cope with climate change in their communities
Ghita who is featured in the film here has since passed her baccalauréat and has been awarded a full scholarship to study at SIST University Casablanca. This is a beautiful reminder of just how important and effective the work of Education for All Morocco (www.efamorocco.org) is.
