The Wanted 18: Harnessing Humour to Tell Palestinian Stories

Multi-disciplinary artist Amer Shomali joins us in the studio to talk about his film, "The Wanted 18". Screened as part of Paris's first Palestinian film festival, the documentary-animation hybrid recounts the true story of a group of fugitive farmyard animals during the first Intifada.

As the Israeli army closes in on the cows, Shomali brings a touch of humour to the surreal sequence of events. We talk about the obstacles encountered by filmmakers in the Arab world and the metaphorical potential of animals on screen.
