Brother Haroon Walik leads a team of Atlanta area young Black men and “street tribe” members, in regular street patrols in high-crime and over-policed neighbourhoods. They see themselves as protectors from those who terrorise their communities. Whether they be drug dealers or racisist police. But the project does much more. It transforms lives and reaches out to others in similar situations to help them do the same.
The Street Groomers aim to unite the “street tribes”, and begin taking back the streets from thugs of all types (including those in Blue) and to clean up their communities - for real. In the era of Black Lives Matter, the Street Groomers of Atlanta tells of a communty's battle for racial justice on a scale rarely seen by mainstream America.
