When plans emerged to demolish the main city park in Istanbul and replace it with a new mall, environmental activists took to the street. But what started out as a dispute over a green space grew into a nationwide protest, with a heavy police response. Gezi Park is a 40 minute documentary looking at the protests from an Irish perspective, incorporating on-the-ground footage and interviews to give the perspective of activists, journalists, academics and business people.
