This exquisite 3-minute video tells the story of three thousand American high school art students who reached out in 2017 to war-displaced children in a Syrian refugee camp by studying photographs of their faces and painting portraits of them as gifts. In the process, the students and the refugee children discovered a shared humanity that elevated friendship above fear, and transformed forever the perceptions of everyone involved. It is impossible to watch this video, which shows the children receiving their portraits at the refugee camp, and to remain prejudiced, racist, or in this case Islamophobic. The wonderful charity behind this venture was The Memory Project: https://memoryproject.org/
