And, just like me and countless others, you must endure those feelings and refuse to become a spiritual casualty of that reality, holding fast to all the precious goodness the reality endangers. The worst of times can bring out the best in people. It remains to be seen how you and I and the people of the world may rise up to defy this flagrant disgusting evil—and the system of Domination it epitomizes. Never before has so much been at stake, and never before have so many people known it. Despair and cynicism neutralize us better than any dictatorial police state. Let us begin the struggle by strengthening our fighting spirit, our bonds to those who stand beside us in solidarity. And above all, by never losing sight of that precious goodness, in ourselves, our comrades, and the miracle of our living world.
