Add Films For Action Video Content on Your Blog or Website (V1.2)
By Tim Hjersted / filmsforaction.org
Jun 12, 2009
With this widget you can easily add hundreds of the best socially-conscious videos to your blog or website in minutes.

{UPDATE}: We've tweaked and added some new functionality to our "Videos Being Watched Now at FilmsForAction.Org" widget. V.1.2 lets you scroll down to view more films, and the widget images are now transparent gifs, making it fit visually with a variety of different color schemes.

Grab the code for the widget here.

Below are a few examples of how the widget can fit seamlessly into your site. Click the images to see the examples live.

Add it to your website or blog:
200px Width | 230px Width | 300px Width

By clicking on the "Grab and Share" link at the bottom of the widget you can copy and paste the widget code directly into your site.

The widget will work on WordPress.com, Blogger.com and any personally hosted website, as well as any other blog hosting sites that allow scripts. It won’t work on Myspace or Facebook, yet. We’re currently working on a custom app for those sites.

(Ps, to get it to work on WordPress.com, after clicking "Get & Share" on the widget, be sure to click on the WordPress icon when choosing a site to share the widget on. It will then create the custom code WordPress needs to make the script work. From there just paste the code it gives you into an HTML/Text sidebar section. Here is an example.)

About Films For Action:
Our catalog of videos on the site spans nearly 400 of the best indy media / activist-issue videos that can be watched free online.

If you're not familiar with the range of content covered by Films For Action, a sampling of topics include: activism, corporations, big media, sustainability, permaculture, community building, climate change, peak oil, globalization, empire, human and animal rights, media literacy, big ideas, politics, government, economics, society, food, education, solutions, the big picture, consumerism, drug prohibition, election fraud, culture, indigenous issues, terrorism, war & peace.. you name it.

We try to cover the full range of issues that don't get adequately covered by the establishment media. A quick viewing at some of the films in our "big media" section is proof enough to why this is so important.

After you add it to your site...
Let us know if there are any ideas you have for changes or improvements, or different versions we could make that will better tailor to your site size and color scheme.

If all goes to plan, viewers of your site will love checking out all the constantly updating videos they'll see when they come to check out your latest blog. They'll probably end up loving you more, too. New videos on super badass topics that matter - something different and certifiably awesome every time they visit your site? Amazing they'll say. Constant fresh stimulus..

Speaking of fresh stimulus, it just started raining outside. MMmm, wonderful negative ions in the air.. I'm gonna go lay down and get some rest. See you on the flip side.

In solidarity, Tim
