Using interview footage and archival photography, this documentary explores the history of Pinevale High School, a segregated Black high school in Valdosta, Georgia that was open from 1957 to 1972.
My deepest appreciations go out to the Pinevale Alumni Association and everyone that made time to be a part of this project, especially Dr. Willie Houseal, Chairperson of the alumni group. It was both a pleasure and a privilege, and I felt honored to get to talk with folks about this history and their experiences living under Jim Crow segregation in South Georgia.
