In the wake of our recent Presidential election, the Flint Water Crisis has seen a rapid decline in news coverage. An “out of sight, out of mind” stance has been taken by most major networks and while the city continues to fight for an uncertain future, the rest of the world remains
disconnected and misinformed, or worse, believe the situation to have been remedied completely. The residents of Flint, Michigan however, are still facing a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions and it’s highly probable that the effects of this crisis will be felt for years to
come.
The aim of the 'Greetings from Flint' Project is the use of high-concept protest art to shine a light on the City of Flint and leave behind a collection of beautiful large and small scale murals for the city to look to for inspiration and empowerment. Using a combination of art, documentary filmmaking, photography and grassroots activism, it is our hope to bring Flint, Michigan back into the media spotlight and re-direct the country’s attention to the families our government failed.
In addition to the mural project, independent filmmakers will conduct formal interviews with residents, capturing their stories and insight into the current situation in Flint.
THE PLAYERS:
In conjunction with Flint-based documentarian, Jessica Revoldt, and The Flint Public Arts Project, American activist art collectives INDECLINE + COlabs will travel to Flint, Michigan to conceptualize and execute a number of politically charged murals on the designated walls, buildings and water silos provided to them by the city. Various high-profile collaborating artists will be invited to take part in the project as well and in doing so, will add to the validity and reach of the message.

America (excerpt)
By Allen Ginsberg
America I’ve given you all and now I’m nothing.
America when will we end the human war?
America when will you be angelic?
When will you take off your clothes?
When will you look at yourself through the grave?
America why are your libraries full of tears?
America this is the impression I get from looking in the television set.
America is this correct?
