Guest Speaker: Jeff Bryant, Executive Director of Urban Roots Garden Classroom and Farm

This meeting is an opportunity for us to gather after the screening of the movie WIthin Reach in December 2012 and meeting with producer

We continue to address questions of how can we pass along a lush, beautiful, sustainable world to future generations? Is it even possible? And why is it our responsibility as global citizens?

here in Reno, with many of us working toward sustainability  and self-reliance, we've found sustainable community seems Within Reach. In fact, it’s already here.

Let’s continue to make our region more self-reliant, more cooperative, and more resilient community!

Connecting The Good would like to invite you to this exciting networking breakfast. Come join representatives from many groups who are already doing great work in our region.

There will be plenty of time for you to meet leaders and others in the various networks for sustainability.

We will also have as a guest speaker Jeff Bryant, Executive Director of Urban Roots. He will speak about how local food connects with the myriad of other sustainability efforts. He will also talk about an  exciting new partnership with the University of Nevada Reno.

Cost for Breakfast is $8/person. Breakfast is optional!

more re: WITHIN REACH MOVIE pedal-powered exploration and search for a place to call home in a sustainable community. Ryan Mlynarczyk and Mandy Creighton set out from the San Francisco Bay Area on their bicycles, after giving up their house, jobs and cars, in search of a sustainable life.

They went on a quest for community - the secret ingredient to a sustainable life. Along the way, they explored Ecovillages, Cohousing Communities, Co-op Houses, Communes, Transition Towns and their own principles and commitment. In the end they returned to the timeless truth that community is everywhere and we can create sustainable community right where we’re at.
