Lawrence Community Orchard Work Day

Sat, Mar 17, 2012 9am
along Burroughs Creek Trail, off Garfield St.

We will be removing sod and preparing planting holes for about 60 trees and shrubs. Many hands make light work! Bring your friends and family for a fun day helping to create this community orchard. Most trees will be planted the following week.
Bring shovels and work glo...ves.
Bring a snack. We will provide refreshments. The 17th is also St. Patricks day so feel free to stay for as short or as long a time as you wish.

The orchard is located along Burroughs Creek Trail off of Garfield st. Here is a link to the Google map. On the map a drainage ditch is incorrectly labeled as Garfield, Garfield is actually to the south. note the green arrow: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=38.959309%2C-95.22636&ll=38.959511%2C-95.226228&spn=0.001599%2C0.002411&num=1&t=h&z=19

Please do not park on Garfield st. It is a narrow street with many driveways and we don't want to inconvenience the neighbors. Park along Delaware or at the playground at 15th and Burroughs Creek. Riding a bike or walking would be a great way to get there.

Thanks! we'll see you then.
