Filmed on location in Kansas City's legendary KYYS "KY" and  around Lawrence Kansas' Lazer as well as New York and San Diego, this award winning film reveals how music choice was removed from the hands of the DJ after stations started merging in the late 90s. When live local voices are replaced with prerecorded and satellite programs, it ends an age-old symbiotic relationship between radio and the community. That hurts emerging bands, small charities, local businesses and even the emergence of new ideas on a local level. The film also uncovers how high finance has gutted the medium through private equity firms such as Bain Capital.

The film makers will be in attendance for a Q & A after the film.  This screening is a benefit for KIFF (the Kansas International Film Festival).
