At TEDxIndianapolis, we’re constantly seeking out fresh perspectives, radical thinking, and game-changing concepts. If you’ve got a Big Idea related to technology, art, or learning—an idea so big that it just might change the world—we want to hear it. It could turn into your once-in-a-lifetime chance to shine on one of Indy’s biggest stages.
Submitting your Big Idea is easy. Just click here to fill out the form. We need a 140-word summary of your Big Idea, a .jpg headshot, and your contact information—that’s it! We’ll be accepting submissions between Friday, April 14 and Monday, May 12 at 11:50pm EST.
After submissions are in, we’ll have a special speaker review event on Friday, June 6 at Well Done Marketing (1043 Virginia Ave.) from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. That’s when all of the presentation ideas will be shared with the public for voting on which ones you’d like to see at TEDxIndianapolis 2014. The speaker review event is open to the public, so be sure to save the date now and invite friends to support your Big Idea!
Speakers will be informed by Friday, June 20 whether or not they’ll be invited to continue with the speaker selection process.
Before you submit your Big Idea, be sure to check out videos of last year’s speakers—and this handy guide from TED created for speakers to give a great Talk. They will give you a good indication of the tone and quality we’re looking for. (Note: The TED guide mentions practicing your speech for 18-minute timing. At TEDxIndianapolis, our speakers are given presentation times from 5- and 10-minutes in length.) And please keep in mind: We’re only looking for speakers local to Indiana.
TEDxIndianapolis 2014 takes place at the Hilbert Circle Theatre on Tuesday, October 21, from 8:00am to 5:30pm. Even if you’re not a speaker, be sure to join us for all the fun and excitement!
