Good Works Film Festival is honored to present three-screenings of Patrick Wang’s debut masterpiece, In The Family. This highly acclaimed narrative film will be shown at Bijou Art Cinemas in Eugene, Oregon on Saturday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. and again on Sunday, March 17 at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Patrick Wang, filmmaker and actor will be in attendance for all screenings to introduce the film and for a post-screening Q&A discussion. There is an opportunity to meet Mr. Wang and enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages at our post-film receptions following the 7:00 p.m. screening on Saturday and 5:00 p.m. screening on Sunday.

In The Family is the story of Chip Hines, a precocious six year old, who has only known life with his two dads, Cody and Joey while growing up in the small town of Martin, Tennessee.

This multiple award winning film focuses on the current social themes of defining a family, love, human dignity and marriage equality.

"Topical and timeless... a remarkably fresh and unpredictable drama... one of the most accomplished and undersold directorial debuts this year."  - Paul Brunick, The New York Times

"An indie masterpiece... a film that avoids any message or statement and simply shows us, with infinite sympathy, how the life of a completely original character can help us lead our own."  - Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

Sponsors and Community Partners for this special presentation are:  OREGON COUNTRY FAIR; PRIDE FOUNDATION; BASIC RIGHTS OREGON and EUGENE WEEKLY.

Good Works Film Festival brings highly acclaimed social issue themed feature films to the area which may not appear in this market otherwise.  GWFF engages local organizations, local government and businesses to participate in the post screening discussion and to meet attendees at the Festival HUB or receptions. It is our premise that we can no longer afford to see a film and not respond through some kind of action.
