The Truth Game

John Pilger looks at world-wide propaganda surrounding the nuclear arms race.

After 2 American atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 -- code-named 'Fat Man' and  'Little Boy' -- President Truman said: "The experiment has been an overwhelming success."
Pilger"These were words used to describe the awful and horrific carnage of nuclear war. By using reassuring, even soothing language, this new kind of propaganda created acceptable images of war and the illusion that we could live securely with nuclear weapons."

This film examines official 'truths' in connection with the bombing of Hiroshima, the build-up of arms by Russia and America, the siting of nuclear bases by the US in Britain and Europe, the $$$ billions of US money spent on weapons ... a NATO 'limited' nuclear and chemical war exercise in West Germany, which Pilger describes as "a dry run for the unthinkable."

"In your face from outer space"  ~motto, US Space Warfare Center

"The role of the U.S. in the new world corporate order ... means endless wars and weapons in space. The Pentagon will send our kids off to foreign lands to suppress opposition to corporate globalization. How will we ever end America's addiction to war and violence ..." ~ Bruce Gagnon, co-producer Arsenal of Hypocrisy

"It is not viable for one country to demand a right to increase and upgrade its nuclear weapons while asking others to eliminate theirs."  ~John Bruton

"As for the assertion that nuclear weapons prevent wars, how many more wars are needed to refute this argument? Tens of millions have died in the many wars that have taken place since 1945".  ~Joseph Rotblat

"Nuclear weapons offer us nothing but a balance of terror, and a balance of terror is still terror". ~George Wald

The  US has 3 three types of WMD:

nuclear weapons, chemical weapons and biological weapons.
•    The US is the only country to have used nuclear weapons on people.
•    The US used chemical weapons in World War I.
•    The US secretly developed the atomic weapon during the 1940s under the title "Manhattan Project".
•    The US used chemical weapons on the Vietnamese; it used them on Iraqis.
•    The US has the largest number of deployed nuclear weapons in the world - with 300 more than Russia.

Reveals the US Pentagon's link to Iraqi torture centres

This BBC-Guardian expose uses WikiLeaks to link Iraq torture centers to U.S. Col. Steele & Gen. Petraeus.

A 15-month investigation by the Guardian and BBC Arabic reveals how retired US colonel James Steele, a veteran of American proxy wars in El Salvador and Nicaragua, played a key role in training and overseeing US-funded special police commandos who ran a network of torture centres in Iraq.

Another special forces veteran, Colonel James Coffman, worked with Steele and reported directly to General David Petraeus, who had been sent into Iraq to organize the Iraqi security services.
