Rising Up Film Launch Fundraiser
Mar 9, 2015

Film screening of two short films about Rising Up, with talks from speakers including local activists and campaigners involved in the campaign. Ahead of Bristol City Council seeking authority from the courts to evict protestors in Tuesday's court hearing, there will be an official launch of the Crowdfunding campaign to help raise money for the Rising Up movement, and a Q&A about why we are taking non-violent Direct Action. Rising Up is a growing collective of local campaigners, activists and individuals working to save Bristol's Real Green Capital. We are occupying land and trees up near Stapleton Allotments to safeguard some of the the highest quality agricultural land in the UK. We are also protecting mature trees, a woodland copse, a wildflower meadow, nesting birds and vital habitat for other wildlife.
