Highlighted Sponsor of the Day: Fellowship for Intentional Communities www.ic.org

This is the umbrella organization for the Intentional Communities Movement, and they have just this past weekend officially agreed to be our non-profit fiscal sponsor! Check out their website to find out more about communities all over the world. This directory was our bible for the journey and helped us not only find but contact most of the 100 communities we visited and filmed.

Within Reach Movie Transcribed Footage Quote of the Day:

Pema, Buddhist Monastic, Joyful Path Healing & Meditation Center & Community, Blue Mounds, WI - http://www.joyfulpathhealing.com

"When I first met Mandy and Ryan, they said we've been on this 6,000 mile bike journey and interviewed all these communities, they said "sustainability is a journey not a destination"...I've been tired and dejected because the cost of entry into the sustainability movement is so high...but when I learned I can do so little I got excited. I'm not going to move out to the country and build a house from scratch. When they said the cost of membership is NOT high...it's a journey...I can be a member of the sustainability movement through that process! I thought I would have to sell my house and move to the country and totally change my life to be a member of the sustainability movement...but now I learned that I can do ONE thing and keep taking steps along the way...that inspired me...now I feel like it's a community I can be a part of now. People have different ideas about what sustainability is. Whatever your interests are, you're probably going to find something that you're good at that you can join in. A key part of sustainability is community, and a key part of community is spirituality, and we can do what our core expertise is and still be supportive of the sustainable community and help others be a part of a sustainable community. We can all have a point of entry into the sustainability movement and we can all come together...and no one has to be left out...it's easy...anybody can participate and it doesn't take a lot of time...and yet for others who really want to inspire others ... there are things for them too...everyone can come together around something in there. Whether it's the truly passionate people like Mandy and Ryan or the people who just change their light bulbs"
