Sussex University Students' Vigil

On December 1st 2015, a day before UK government intervention in Syria was to be discussed in Parliament, many people gathered around the country to express their disagreement with the proposed action. On Sussex University campus around 50 people showed up to express their support. A banner was laid out for people to write messages.

Student activism has always played a key role throughout Sussex University's history. Often with support from the Student Union, lecturers and staff.

This latest vigil had a quieter tone than most demonstrations, in some ways, representing the horror and disappointment at the idea of yet another attack on foreign soil.

The vigil was organised by members of Sussex Stop the War.
