Trailer for a half-hour, family-friendly video that presents eco-living basics with humor and down-to-earth examples, narrated by Tony Shalhoub. GOINGGREEN answers the question, What can I personally do to help solve the environmental problems facing us today?
GOINGGREEN tours the original Eco-Home™ with a group of middle-school kids who see some simple, inexpensive ways to become more earth-friendly. Guided by eco-pioneer Julia Russell, Founding Director of Eco-Home™ Network, the children discover solar panels, a gray water system, energy and water saving appliances, sun pipes that light up a room without electricity, composting, drought-tolerant gardening, toxic household products, munch on organic apples from one of Julia's 28 fruit trees, pick tomatoes right off the vine and make tomato juice.
GOINGGREEN's eco-basics show that, even on a limited budget, we can live earth-friendly lives in the middle of a city.
Conforms to the California earth science curriculum for grades 5 through 12. Ideal audience is middle school kids and their families.
